Description: On November 18, 2002, the International Arbitration Institute (“IAI”) launched an international arbitration forum in the form of a discussion list via email (list serve).
This forum has been created with a view of providing members with a means to exchange information, as well as to host worldwide debates on arbitration issues.
“To my knowledge,” says Chairman Emmanuel Gaillard, “this constitutes the first global forum of this kind. Academics and practitioners active in the field of arbitration regularly meet in congresses and seminars throughout the world. Yet the arbitration community is, by its nature, very much dispersed geographically and opportunities to discuss issues on a global basis are few. The discussion list will provide a convenient means to discuss pertinent issues in the field of international arbitration. I expect that very stimulating debates will be held through this medium.”
